Field Trips-Are they back?

The kiddos are getting older, louder, slightly opinionated, and more beautiful by the minute. They’re still annoying and hate bedtime just as much as waking up (make it make sense, people). At least they stick to the normal food groups of grilled cheese, dino nuggets, mac n cheese, and shredded cheese on crackers.
With the beautiful wife out of town, I dusted off the old traveler’s journal and started scoping out our next field trip. It’s not easy—because as the kids age, so do their brains. They’re evolving. I can’t just take them to an air museum (something I want); I need to take them somewhere they want.
The days of, “Hey girls, look at this amazing SR-71 Blackbird!” followed by, “Wow, Dad, you’re the coolest! Look at this big plane—I can’t believe it!” are gone. Now I hear, “Dad, I will lose my mind if you ever take us to an air museum. It’s hot, it takes two hours, and all we do is look at a large metal object that doesn’t move. Please turn up the zombie soundtrack.”
After much debate, I decided to venture to the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures. It’s a beautiful museum that shows the history of film with some great memorabilia…who am I kidding, kids are free so we went. You know the rules, pack lunches the night before and each person gets a song choice for the 1.5 hour ride.
